The DKMS - German marrow donor file

The DKMS German marrow donor file non-profit society ltd. is also over 1.394.996 registered donors the world-wide largest master cell donor file. In the last 15 years it made possible over 9.200 master cell transplant ions. Every 45 minutes gets sick in Germany humans again to leukaemia, among them many children and young people. For many of these humans the Stammzelltransplantation offers

Apart from the development of the donor file the DKMS works to constantly improve the quality of the file and the efficiency of the donor switching. For this purpose 2001 also its own laboratory in Dresden were furnished, the DKMS Life Science lab.

Beyond that the DKMS sees its task in the clearing-up of the population over the chances of the master cell therapy for leukaemia patient. Because also due to unawareness and unsatisfactory information not all patients receive the possibility of a Stammzelltransplantation.


Emergence of the DKMS
