SyltSemester: Pilot term starts in March

(openPR) - Bonn, 18 February 2007: On third March Sylt starts the first SyltSemester on the island. SyltSemester is a new form of the choice of study consultation for high school graduates, specialized technical and high school students from the class stages eleven to thirteen. University teachers and studied practical men mediate here in a two-week course views of the different technical disciplines and give valuable Tipps approximately around the study. In typical introduction lectures the participants receive a first impression from the contentwise and organizational requirements of the different academic subjects. Beyond that above all the practical men among the lecturers inform chances, which are connected with a certain study about concrete career profiles and -. For the conclusion of the SyltSemesters each class participant receives an individual and personal choice of study consultation by the education experts from planZ. PlanZ is a prominent offerer in the study and career consultation and strategic partner of the SyltSemesters.

The next SyltSemester - the SyltSemester North-Rhine/Westphalia - takes place at the beginning of North-Rhine/Westphalian summer holidays (at the end of of June/at the beginning of of July). Place of event for this date is Bonn. The next date on Sylt is intended for August. Details to the dates and further information are there under www.syltsemester.de.

Dr. Harald von Kortzfleisch (class 1962) is acting partner of the VonKor GmbH, which offers advisory service achievements for the bildungsweg and occupation choice. Under the mark „SyltSemester “offers the VonKor to GmbH „a study of generals in the small one “on the island Sylt to facilitate with the goal, high school graduate and specialized high school graduate the choice of study decision by personal trying study experiences.

In order to make the SyltSemester for all accessible, the VonKor GmbH strives for appropriate financing possibilities and assigns for the first SyltSemester a scholarship, which covers the complete participation fees. The assignment of scholarships is durably intended.

Harald of Kortzfleisch represents the Professur for information management at the University of Koblenz since 2003. He is besides private lecturer at the University of Kassel as well as academic leader and training representative at the euro-Business college in Bonn. Additionally he is a guest researcher and project manager at the economical research group innovative technologies as well as CO leader of the research group establishment economics and Entrepreneurship, both at the university to Cologne.

The idea for the SyltSemester was born with an experts' meeting in the context of one of the Sylter rounds in such a way specified (www.sylter-runde.de) on the island Sylt. It developed in close co-operation with Professor Dr. Dr. h. C. Norbert Szyperski, which received successes for its to the topic „Entrepreneurship “in the year 2004 the large Order of Merit lent.

Professor Szyperski is director/conductor of the Kuratoriums of the SyltSemesters.
